How to Use Affirmation to Create Your Reality

How to Use Affirmation to Create Your Reality

“Affirmation means saying ‘yes’ to yourself and to the life you lead, and to accepting your own unique personhood …. Affirmation means that you embrace the life that is yours and flows through you. Your affirmation of yourself is one of your greatest strengths. You can at times quite properly deny certain portions of experience, while still confirming your own vitality. You do not have to say “yes” to people, issues, or to events with which you are deeply disturbed. Affirmation does not mean a bland wishy-washy acceptance of anything that comes your way, regardless of your feelings about it. Biologically, affirmation means health. You go along with life, understanding that you form your experience, emphasizing your ability to do so. Affirmation does not mean sitting back and saying, “I can do nothing. It is all in Fate’s hands, therefore whatever happens, happens.”….[Affirmation] is the acceptance of your individuality in flesh. Basically it is a spiritual, psychic and biological necessity, and represents your appreciation of your singular integrity.”

[Affirmation] means saying ‘yes’ to your own being. It means acquiescing to your reality as a spirit in flesh. Within the framework of your own complexity, you have the right to say ‘no” to certain situations, to express your desires, to communicate your feelings. If you do so, then in the great flow and sweep of your eternal reality there will be an overall current of love and creativity that carries you. Affirmation is the acceptance of yourself in your present as the person that you are. Within that acceptance you may find qualities that you wish you did not have or that annoy you. You must not expect to be “per-fect”…Your ideas of perfection mean a state of fulfillment beyond which there is no future growth, and no such state exists.

Affirmation always involves the acknowledgment of your power in the present … Denial is the surrendering of that power. Affirmation then is the acquiescence to your ability, as a spirit within flesh, to form the physical reality of your creaturehood. ”

“Affirmations are very powerful processes. Now if you are saying those affirmations and you are paying full attention to them, then you are in your higher state. But if you are just saying them and they have no feeling to you, no meaning to you, then in one sense it is like they are going right through you. It is like saying to your child, “Yes, yes, yes,” and you have not really heard them. It is the same with an affirmation. Say it and feel it. Picture it and know it. The more real you make it, the more it will happen.

You have to experience as well, you have to feel it inside. It is your feelings as well that create your reality. The more you can picture having something, the more you can feel it, the more rapidly you will create it. So, if you are feeling these affirmations and having a sense of knowingness, that is a good state to be in. If you are just saying them because you have to with no sense of them as a truth, then you might say it is not wasted, it is not bad, it is just simply that you are not getting the maximum results from it. But affirmations are a very powerful way to change your reality.”

Think a thought you can accept. “My success is coming to me now,” or “all things lead to my success.”

“Affirmations do not work if they are merely statements of what you want to be true. Affirmations work only when they are statements of something you already know to be true. The best so-called affirmation is a statement of gratitude and appreciation. “Thank you, God, for bringing me success in my life.” Now, that idea, thought, spoken, and acted upon, produces wonderful results—when it comes from true knowing; not from an attempt to produce results, but from an awareness that results have already been produced. Jesus had such clarity. Before every miracle, He thanked Me in advance for its deliverance. It never occurred to Him not to be grateful, because it never occurred to Him that what He declared would not happen. The thought never entered His mind. So sure was He of Who He Was and of His relationship to Me that His every thought, word, and deed reflected his awareness—just as your thoughts, words, and deeds reflect yours. If, now, there is something you choose to experience in your life, do not “want” it—choose it. Do you choose success in worldly terms? Do you choose more money? Good. Then choose it. Really. Fully. Not half-heartedly.”

- Conversations with God, Book 1

“What’s an affirmation? What’s the value of an affirmation? In other words, an affirmation is just words if the affirmation doesn’t move you vibrationally then it doesn’t mean anything. An affirmation, the whole point of an affirmation is “It moves me vibrationally.” So we think that anything short of a list of positive aspects, or positive affirmations, or rampage of appreciation, we don’t think an affirmation is enough even if you say it over and over again, because the same thing that you keep saying just keeps holding you in the same place. You want a continual barrage of statements coming out of you, each one lifting you a little higher than the last. What we’ve noticed with so many people is that they say the words but it doesn’t move the energy, and then that’s as far as they go, and it doesn’t take them far enough. So if an affirmation gets you in the vortex and holds you in the vortex, then that’s a wonderful thing, but we think a series of statements and a reaching for more and a recognition of how this statement that you’ve just made is serving you, and then a reaching for another and another. Let’s say we’re looking for affirmation momentum. “A series of affirmation that moves me in the direction of my vortex and holds me there once I get there.” Affirmation momentum, the momentum of affirmations. We don’t just want you to memorize a bunch of affirmations that you begin repeating, unless they’re so good that they just make you really feel it every time you say it. We just want you to think them up and say new ones, and be creative on the affirmation front. Be a genius at positive affirmations. Look for endless ways of saying it in ways that make you feel it, so that it doesn’t just become something that you say. Just free flowing, free form, constant affirmation of success.”
